Have you just decided you and your partner are ready to have a baby? If so, your life is about to change! Many couples today are struggling to get pregnant because of infertility factors or a lack of information. When I decided to have my first baby, I had a few infertility issues I needed to solve, and it took me two years to get pregnant. The second time I got pregnant in the first month of trying to conceive. My knowledge of the issues I had and my increase in knowledge of tips and tricks to get pregnant quickly contributed to such a fast conception. I am writing this blog to help all women understand their bodies and conceive faster.
What do you and your partner need to do before trying to get pregnant?
Three months before trying to conceive you should do the following. This will get your body ready for conception and make conception faster.
- Pre-Check-Up Appointment
Finding out any obvious infertility problems before you start trying to conceive will save you so much time. Visit your OB/GYN department and inform them that you are trying to conceive. They might change your medication to more fertile friendly options and get some blood tests done to make sure you are healthy enough to carry a pregnancy. Your partner should have a pre-check-up too. A semen analysis would tell him a lot about his fertility and overall health.
- Vitamins
Begin taking a prenatal vitamin that contains at least 400 mcg of folic acid. Folic acid is necessary to prevent neural defects in babies. Your partner can also take a vitamin to boost sperm supply and motility.
- Healthier Choices
The food you both eat is very important. Stay hydrated and eat grains, vegetables, fruit, and proteins. Your partner can also eat food that boost sperm count and motility including bananas, Maca, spinach, walnuts, eggs, dark chocolate, etc.
- Exercise
Make sure your BMIs are healthy. Exercise regularly. From experience, I can tell you that exercise increases male fertility.
- App
Download a period and ovulation tracker app. Fill your data in each month, and add your partner to your account. This way you can both stay up to date with each cycle you try to conceive in.
What are some tricks and tips to get pregnant quickly?
- Know When You Ovulate
Knowing when you ovulate is a game-changer. Ovulation occurs when the egg leaves the ovary. Look for ovulation symptoms like an increase in sex drive and an increase in cervical mucus. I personally take ovulation kit tests. These are tests that tell you when you are ovulating. Use them, they are worth your money.
- Have Sexual Intercourse On Specific Days
Once you track your ovulation day, have sexual intercourse two days before ovulation and on ovulation day. Those are your most fertile days. You can also have sexual intercourse every other day after your period ends.
- Skip the Lubricant
Most lubricants prevent sperm from swimming up the vaginal canal. Don’t use lubricant or use one that is conception friendly.
- Sex Positions
No research proves that one sex position increases your chance of conception. However, in my opinion, choose a position that doesn’t involve semen falling out within the first minute. You can lay down for about ten minutes afterward to prevent this from happening.
How long does it take to get pregnant?
Couples usually conceive within 6 months to a year of trying if they have no fertility issues.
When should I see a fertility specialist?
You should see a fertility specialist after a year of trying to conceive.
